I mean that. I know you probably aren’t telling anyone yet and maybe you JUST had your doctor’s appointment or you haven’t been yet! Your email, your name, your EVERYTHING is safe with me. I am here for YOU. I know you are googling everything you can think of so let this be a resource to help answer your questions and empower you at this first stage of your pregnancy.
I think of pregnancy as a 40 week training period for your baby's arrival and motherhood!
Yes, there are a bunch of things you’re not supposed to or allowed to do while pregnant (hello wine, belly flops, saunas, cured meat), but there is also so much you can still do and SHOULD DO to prepare physically and mentally for the marathon of having a baby!
This shift of mindset from “I can’t do..." and "I’m not allowed to...” to a mindset of “I need to focus on..." and "that doesn’t serve my current goals” can help ease the toll this may take on your ego and help guide you to make the best decisions for you and your baby.
Your physical needs and, let’s say tolerances, will shift with each trimester so it’s important to understand what is going on during each stage of pregnancy and preparation for labor and motherhood so you can train properly, get what you need, and stay safe!
Whether this pregnancy caught you off guard and you don’t know what to do. Or you’ve been undergoing fertility treatments and are nervous about exercise during pregnancy. I’ve got you too! Everything we do at Pilates For Your Privates is safe! Our goal is to empower you with knowledge so you can safely, confidently, and productively stay active during your pregnancy! We can be your resource for safe modifications or your one stop shop for staying fit. OR BOTH! We are here to serve you! And we won’t tell anyone anything! With that said, always always always check with your doctor, midwife, medical professional of choice to make sure it is safe for you to continue physical activity.

Meet Alissa, the girl who will talk about everything.
Alissa has been a certified Pilates instructor for over twelve years and a dancer for over thirty (it's hard to believe because she looks so young, but alas, it's true).
After receiving her BA at Skidmore College with a double major in Dance Performance and Spanish Language and Literature, she got her classical Pilates certification in New York City at True Pilates NY. She has taught all over the world and loves sharing her passion and appreciation for the Pilates method. Her passions lie in pelvic floor health, comedy, and her french bulldog, Walter.
